The only specialty that I can get into without returning to residency or fellowship for 1-3 years is emergency medicine.  I have been moonlighting with 3 companies with numerous other doctors who cannot make an adequate living at his/her office either.


I have been offered any income from $100,000 to $400,000 per year depending on number of hours and how busy the hospital is.  I can work 4 days per week, one weekend per month, and get one month off for vacation while still make $250,000 per year.  This is completely impossible in family practice.
